PROCESS
Where expertise meets excellence Behind every Utkarsh TMT Bar lies an innovative production process that ensures uncompromising quality and consistency. Here’s how we create our premium-grade TMT bars
SPONGE IRON
Sponge iron undergoes extensive chemical analysis by melting it in a 5 KG furnace and using a pectrometer from Japan to achieve the ideal chemical composition.
STEEL MELTING SHOP
Metallurgists & engineers oversee the melting process to create a homogeneous mixture with low levels of impurities such as phosphorus & Sulphur, ensuring the ideal chemical composition through regular sampling.
LADLE TREATMENT
The prepared bath is purged in the ladle with inert gases to remove unwanted elements.
BILLET CASTER
Molten metal solidifies into ‘semi-finished’ billets using precision mould tubes with less than 0.01% variation in section sizes, controlled by automated water valves for temperature maintenance.
ROLLING MILL
Steel billets, arriving at around 1000°C, are hot rolled to transform into the final size and shape of reinforced bars.
THERMAX QUENCHING
The hot reinforced bars are rapidly cooled using advanced German QST technology to prevent undesired phase transformations, resulting in an outer Martensite layer while the core remains hot.
PHYSICAL & CHEMICAL TESTING LAB
Our plant utilizes modern Computerized machines, and our skilled staff ensures continuous 24×7 monitoring to meet BIS standards for TMT rebars.
STORAGE & DISPATCH
Natural cooling post-quenching tempers the austenitic core into ferrite and pearlite on the cooling bed, ensuring a uniform microstructure.
